MARSHALL AMPS

I led the in-house creative team Marshall Amplification for over five years, managing video production, photography, product and graphic design projects.

My main focus was controlling manufacturing and promotional artworks for over sixty products (every visual aspect of a product, such as packaging, control panels, instruction manuals and advertising). I managed all of these assets through a collaborative, ISO-inspired design documentation system, which drastically improved collaboration with the engineering, compliance and manufacturing teams.

I designed and implemented reusable templates for product quick start guides (QSGs), handling multiple languages, with user needs, economic and sustainable production in mind. I also worked closely with the compliance and legal teams to balance their content requirements with a succinct, approachable tone of voice.

I led the design for multiple product launches, including the Studio range and reissue pedals. These projects required accurate recreations of decades old artworks and a respectful modernisation of the packaging and accompanying literature. I liaised between the engineers and creatives, ensuring the language and descriptions of each pedal were accurate and written by guitarists, for guitarists.

 

Licensed products

Alongside the catalogue of core products, I oversaw the design and promotion of merchandise and licensed products, many of which were sold through a brand new online store.

 

Marshall Amps @ MK Museum

In April 2022 I curated, designed and managed a temporary exhibition celebrating 60 years of Marshall Amps. I led every aspect of the project, from creating the story and flow of the exhibition, to liaising with stakeholders, and managing the production and logistics.
